Meet Monique Edwards
When you meet Monique, you wouldn’t believe she spent the first 30 years of her life dreading public speaking. As a corporate attorney and pastor, she can confidently capture the attention of almost any audience. But it’s precisely her own journey from fear to excellence that inspires Monique’s work now. Whether working as a Coach, strategist, or preacher, Monique is passionate about serving others into greatness.
Prior to joining Own The Room, Monique spent over 18 years working as a corporate attorney. After graduating from the NYU School of Law, she practiced at New York-based law firm Debevoise & Plimpton before joining the legal team at Honeywell International, where she quickly advanced from Assistant General Counsel of Corporate Finance to General Counsel, providing legal oversight for the company’s $1B global business segment. In 2009, she founded her own ministry, later serving as a church pastor for five years. Her background in advising and service led Monique to her current role as an executive coach and career strategist. In addition to Coaching at Own The Room, she works as a Leader at Venwise, moderating mentorship groups for C-Suite executives at high-growth companies.
Always striving for her own personal and professional growth, Monique holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and has studied organizational leadership and change management at MIT Sloan School of Management. If she could trade coaching for any other career path, she’d be a fashion designer. Luckily for our clients, she’ll stick with sneaking into her daughter’s classes at FIT instead.
