Meet Karen Sommers
Karen strongly believes the world would be a better place if people could be their authentic selves in every situation. This drives her to continuously help her coaching clients discover their authentic voice and has framed her personal mission – to inspire and transform others to be more effective in their personal and professional roles.
Karen has carried out this mission throughout her career, which has spanned work in the healthcare and sales industries. As the producer and director of the first interactive television studio at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, she has received the “Team Award” and the “Service Award” from the hospital in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Karen has also worked heavily in the creative arts, acting as the first Director Artist-in-Residence at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. She has also been greatly involved with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival and has worked on Broadway with noted directors like Scott Schwartz and John Caird.
Karen is always up for a new challenge, whether it be spending a semester sailing around the southern hemisphere, or taking up the task of writing, directing & staging an original full-length theatrical production in New York and Los Angeles. Little known about Karen is that she is also a seasoned alto saxophonist — despite being the only female sax player in her high school marching band, she impressively ushered them to first place in the state competitions by her senior year. Since then, Karen has also performed in various large-scale venues, such as the Giants Stadium and Heinz Field.
