Case Study: DP World

OWN THE ROOM’S HIKE MODEL HELPS A LEADING ENABLER OF GLOBAL TRADE CLIMB TO NEW HEIGHTS.

When you‘re one of over 50,000 people powering a company responsible for more than 10% of the world’s global container traffic, things move pretty quickly. With 150 operations across the world, an acquisition-focused mentality, and a commitment to disruptive innovation, taking time to focus on people development might feel like an unaffordable luxury.

But of course, it’s not; and its leaders recognized that if it wanted to extend its half-century of dominance, it would need to nurture a new generation of talent and the time commitment would pay itself back in spades.

Therefore, to develop its emerging leaders in Dubai, this Middle Eastern-based multinational logistics powerhouse flipped the script. Rather than offering just a few sessions or an open enrollment program to accommodate busy schedules, they discovered in Own The Room an offering unique in the L&D industry – a complete learning journey – and went all in.

They ran 20 top young leaders through Own The Room’s Hike 6an assessment-driven, team-orientedten-stage communication training program powered by LifeHikes® and designed to provide measurable growth icritical areas such as executive presence, storytellingand adapting to diverse stakeholders.

To reinforce the learnings, they invested in two hours of post-program 1:1 coaching for each participant, an opportunity to go practice more deeply, address personal challenges, and provide heightened accountability.

Feedback from the program was exceptional, and our client reports the participants presenting with increased confidence and agility, and more effectively delivering key messages to senior stakeholders (which in this case includes royalty).

Above all, these high-potential individuals now know how serious their company is about investing in them.
